So I'm driving along the interstate and when I get in the pedal pretty good I notice the sound of a lot of air coming from engine. If I'm cruising along not so much but when I go to speed up and the turbo starts winding up I hear it. I haven't noticed any major loss of power as of yet. Haven't checked boost pressure yet ( plan to do that later this evening). It definitely sounds like air excaping from the turbo. Just wondering what it might be and has it happened to anyone else.
Just to be clear, are we talking about a pressure leak and not the cooling fan kicking in?
I don't see what year your truck is but if you have the plastic intercooler pipe inspect it around the ribbed area where it connects to the intercooler below the air filter. They will crack there and cause a leak. Check all your hose connections for the intercooler pipes for cracks. Also check the passenger side of the intercooler to see if it blew apart or cracked near the seam of the plastic and aluminum.
I've seen this a couple times now, the plastic splits on the cold side CAC tube under the air filter. Definitely makes an air-whooshing sound at higher boost levels. If this turns out to be the problem, a nice upgrade is the early model metal tube and boots. Riff-Raff sells a kit with their a/m boots, or if the budget is tight Ed at Ficmrepair.com has a nice price with the factory boots.
If that looks ok check the other boots, the one on the turbo outlet often splits on the bottom where you can't see it, and peek under the filler panel in front of the radiator and see if the o-ring is hanging out of the CAC it's self where the plastic end caps meet the aluminum core section. If all that looks ok it could also be an exhaust issue.
In the picture, I'm flexing the plastic pipe to open up the holes, it's pretty hard to see and I may not have caught this without pulling the pipe out.
Kinda funny, when I found mine I ordered a replacement and figured I'd tape it up until the big brown truck came. I had some "F-4" self vulcanizing rubber tape I thought would hold it so I gave it a couple layers of that and came back over it with some electric tape stretched real tight and put it back in. It worked for a while but the first time the boost came up good it started making an amazingly loud squealing sound. After that, it would squeal every time I touched the go pedal. I drove it several miles home-through town with it squealing like some sort of alarm was going off. I got a lot of looks on that short trip .
FYI: The parts the other 2 have posted links to above are for the assembly on the cold side (driver side). It replaces the entire plastic pipe. The kit includes the pipe, both boots, and the 4 clamps.
The reason I mention this is because you said it's time to order new boots, which indicates you need the hot side (passenger side) since it's the only "boots" on an 05-07 in stock form.

Correct I do need for the hot side. But I'm going to order both so I will not have to worry with it anytime soon.

O.K. I did the same too. I just didn't want you to order one and expect the other. I got lucky and found a brand new hot side boot on flEabay for half the price.

Thanks for looking out. Now to wait for my order. Soon my truck will stop sounding like a Tea kettle
