I have an air leak sound coming from I believe the driver side. Sounds like an air line from a compressor leaking. Could see anything obvious last night or hear well over engine. When driving it's pushing more air. Nothing looked/felt loose. Didn't find any air blowing were I could stick my hand in a hot engine. Doesn't seem to have performance issue, maybe a little more turbo delay.
Pull air filter and check large plastic tube between intake manifold and the cooler in front of the radiator. There's a corrugated section near the front that can crack. Riffraff diesel and others sell a metal replacement with boots and clamps that are a nice upgrade if your plastic one is broken.
I think I have the same problem. During heavy acceleration it gets louder right.? Did you find the crack? I haven't checked yet. I did look but nothing the eye picked up. I will be pulling the filter out and checking later. I hope I could what till the pipe is fixed. if thats what it is.
Yes, as in its pushing more air/higher pressure. I did not find a crack yet, but i did not take the pipe completely off either, just did a hand eye visual installed so I'm not seeing 100% of it in the truck. I just hope its not an exhaust manifold or up pipe to the turbo.
