wrong bumper...again.

does anyone make a chrome front bumper for a 65? one that actually belongs there, not just one that will bolt on? LMC lists a bumper for 64-66, so i ordered one but it appears to be just another flat fitsall more suited to 67 and newer trucks. can i buy one specifically for a 65?

No.
C4TZ-17757-C Painted & C4TZ-17757-D Chrome .. Front Bumpers / Chrome reproduced.

Applications: 1964/77 F100/350 / 1978 F100/350 before serial number AG0,001.

The problem is: Ford changed the design of the bumper ends in 1967, but retained the original 1964 part numbers.

The reproduction front bumper (from all the repro parts sellers, not just LMC) is actually a 1967/77 and 1978 before serial number AG0,001.

If you want an original, you'll have to find a used front bumper that you KNOW is from a 1964/66.

ok.

i see 61-63 bumpers listed. aside from the mounting holes, would on of those be more like the original? if the shape was right i'm sure i could make it work and originality really isn't a big deal with me. the right contour is what i'm looking for.

They look the same at first glance, but looks can be deceiving.

1961/63 front bumpers will not work on 1964 and later (see applications in post #2).

1961/63 bumpers have 3 mounting holes per side in a triangular shaped pattern on the face of the bumper.

1964 and later front bumpers have 2 mounting holes per side. The upper hole is atop the bumper, the lower hole is on the face of the bumper.

To get one that actually fits, you'll probably have to comb the wrecking yards and find a straight original one (painted or chrome) and have it replated. Thats what I did....
