Bumpers

One of my regular searches is for a smooth front bumper for our trucks.

It seems only the 67-72 Chevy guys get one.

I did see tonight that Rock Island Auto has a primed front bumper for our trucks for $78.

Maybe I should go with white bumpers, white Custom Cab bed trim, and a white grill for awhile.

That would get me off the hook for all the aluminum trim that needs refinishing.

1964/66 Standard/Custom Cabs came with the painted front bumper, the chrome front bumper was an option.

No doubt not the correct one for a 64-66 truck. In fact when I look at internet pictures of those years it is amazing how most all have chrome bumpers while painted was more common. Not to mention they are almost all the replacement chrome bumper from 67 and on.

Ford confusion:

FoMoCo changed the design of the front bumpers in 1967, but kept the original 1964 part numbers!

C4TZ-17757-C Painted & C4TZ-17757-D Chrome .. Front Bumpers / Obsolete, chrome reproduced.

Applications: 1964/77 F100/350 (except 1973/77 Ranger XLT with horizontal bumper pads) - 1978 F100/350 before serial number AG0,001.

After 48+ years its amazing that so many of these trucks are still on the road, considering that most were bought as work/farm vehicles. Im not splitting hairs over painted/chrome, correct/incorrect design.

The after-market front bumpers do not fit well on the 61-66 trucks. They hang over and they don't follow the contour of the front. You'll be disappointed with fit. Always best to find original front bumpers.
