they are ALL made in china. most likely they're all made at the same place and all the aftermarket vendor buy from them.
best thing to do is find one in a junk yard and have it re-chromed

Finding a contour rear bumper in the 'yard is like finding a conservative in San Francisco - rare!
Unlike today, rear bumpers back in the day were optional and those who did wanted one usually chose the heavy, 75-lb steel "dock" bumper for towing duties - frame-mounted hitches weren't even on the market. Remember, these were work trucks and very few chose them as simple personal vehicles.
I've recently picked up some relatively rare parts (buckets & brackets, 78/79 "sport" steering wheel) but have kept my eyes peeled for a rear bumper and brackets in the 'yard for the last four years and have yet to encounter one - And consider that I live here in CA where rust isn't a significant issue unlike yall in the mid-West.
In the end, sometimes ya gotta bite the bullet and go with a repro. The chrome plating on the back side is likely thin and weak. Plus it is exposed to road/ dirt/mud road spray so I would scuff and coat the back side with POR-15 and a UV-resistant top coat. Use a gloss or semi-gloss top coat because it's easier to spray wash dirt and mud off a slick surface due to less surface friction.
I get a kick out of seeing really nice looking trucks at shows only to see that they neglected to address the bumper's unexposed side. The face chrome is highly polished but the back is dirty, peeling, and rusty. It's like a hot chick wearing dirty underwear. Got the visual?
