hey guys
just wondering what good trans temps would be? 2003 6.0
i was pulling about a 5k load the other day and saw 170 degrees.
is this normal or to high?
unloaded i am seeing 150-160.
ok sounds good. i figured it was ok but didnt know how much would be to much.
also what is a safe EGT to turn the truck off at?
ive been waiting for 350 degrees or less then shutting her down.
Your transmission has a thermostat that nominally tries to keep the trans fluid at 165F. Five degrees above that is well within the error in the thermostat. This thermostat is not digital and they vary a bit from one to another.
