BARO+BOOST=EBP??

Got my FORSCAN software to run correctly so I hooked it up yesterday. Looking at the DTCs I got an EBP sensor code. Looking at the gauges while running, seems the EBP sensor is operating correctly.
BARO here is 14.8, boost was 0 and my EBP at idle was 16.9= 2.1 and I believe within range. KOEO they are matched, BARO=EBP=MAP. Code was a soft code and I cleared it, I'll check for it after work today.

While driving to work I seen anywhere from EBP 16.0-30+ psi depending on throttle. That look like a malfunctioning EBP sensor? I'll clean the tube with trimmer line this afternoon, clean the sensor with brake fluid/carb cleaner/MAF cleaner?

Been getting a pretty good puff of black smoke lately and seems a little down on power... could be that we are almost 100 ambient temp also, that should be good for about a 10% power loss.

Thoughts?

EBP is independent from MAP and BARO, it is the pressure between the exhaust manifolds and the turbo exhaust inlet, at KOEO it should match the MAP and BARO if it is being reported in PSIA, if it is being reported in PSIG it will read zero at KOEO. And Boost is equal to MAP-BARO.

Sure, I understand... does the numbers I'm giving for EBP indicate a working EBP sensor? The DTC say's it wasn't working correctly, why or what indicates it's not functioning, the numbers work, maybe I didn't add them correctly.

What was the exact code you had? If the PCM doesn't get the expected response from the EBP it will set a code. So I would clean the EBP tube and sensor and see if it changes the way it reads.

Should have written it down.. I'll check the codes again, but IIRC it was a non-expected response. Didn't really say when it was set either, maybe it will come back... could have been from some time ago, especially since I cleaned it a few months ago. What cleaner do I use on the sensor... MAF cleaner?

I have never used a cleaner on the EBP sensor just compressed air ( carefully ), but MAF cleaner should be ok I just wouldn't use brake clean.
