seems like it was Tu-tone white and calypso coral. the interior is calypso coral, but my grandfather painted the exterior and has passed. Is there anyway to tell which tutone combination it was?

C = Pastel Parchment Vinyl - Sport Custom or Ranger.

4 = Styleside Pickup.

El Jeffe: Tu-Tone = Primary color listed first on Warranty Plate.

Yeah. I looked at page 31 in the General information section to see which was upper and which was lower. I never needed to know which was what before. Selling touch-up paint in the past I just asked which of the two colors they needed the paint for.

thank you! Does anyone have a picture of the tu-tone patttern? Like where the line is drawn. Would it be white bottom, orange upper, and white roof or orange roof?
I'm also wondering if all the 1972s came with side molding or at least my sports custom. My grandfather did a lot to the truck and I'm trying to get it looking like it did in 1972. Currently it has no side molding.

are these the correct paints?

1971/72 F100/350 Tu-Tone:

Darker color on roof, door window frames and above side mouldings. Lighter color below side mouldings.

Or:

Lighter color on roof and below the side mouldings. Darker color above side mouldings, door window frames.

Info source: 1971/72 factory photos of tu-tone paint shown in: The Standard Catalog of Light Duty Ford Trucks / krause.com / ISBN: 087349-411-3

Pics will also be in original sales brochures, available from faxonautolit.com

Thank you Numberdummy. I made an edit to my post right as or after you had answered, but I was wondering if it's supposed to have side molding. I believe it's a Sports Custom not a ranger.

1 1/4" wide upper side mouldings: 1967 Custom Cab & Ranger, ditto 1968 before serial number C56,001.

1 1/2" wide upper side mouldings: 1968 Custom Cab & Ranger from serial number C56,001; ditto 1969 / 1970/72 Sport Custom.

3 5/8" wide upper side mouldings: 1970/72 Ranger/Ranger XLT / Rangers have black painted inserts, Ranger XLT's have walnut wood grained inserts (decals).

1970/72 pics: Upper = Custom & Sport Custom (most Customs did not come with mouldings) / Lower = Ranger & Ranger XLT

1970/72: Custom/Sport Custom/Ranger/Ranger XLT nameplates are located towards the end of the R/L quarter panels (bedsides) above the upper side mouldings. No F100/350 Custom Cabs after 1969.
