VIN help. 1968 F100 Ranger
I recently acquired a 1968 F100 Ranger. The VIN is f10yec98496. Is there anyway from the VIN to figure out at what the original color of the truck was? I've looked all over and the original VIN plate is nowhere to be found on the truck. Thanks in advance for the help.

Yes, if you get a duplicate Warranty Plate from martiauto.com

E = Mahwah NJ Assembly Plant.
C98406 = 1968.
Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch. Has codes for: COLOR/MODEL/BODY/TRANS/AXLE stamped on it along with other info.
Look closely, it may be painted over.
