Off a tooth?

If I installed my distributor and I am off by a tooth, what will be the behavior of the motor? I assume this won't be good but I also don't know...if I am off a tooth will the PIP pick this up and send the correct signal to the PCM for timing? I am thinking not because the position of the dizzy is not correct in relation to the cam.

If your that concerned you could always restab it the correct way.

As long as you can still swing the distributor to set the base timing to the correct value (10 BTDC is factory), you are good.
