So I'm still in the process of getting my truck together after the PO pulled the tranny and let it sit since 08. I need the proper size and length of the adapter to TC bolts, 3/8x?, and torque for said bolts. I am also missing parts of the TC mount. There is half of a rubber bushing still on the bottom, kind of like a bed mount maybe? I also need the bolt that goes thru it. I also need all 8 of the straps that hold the u joints to the yoke front and back of both driveshafts. And I have two specs for oil, one was 80w90, and the other was 10w40 motor oil. Something about gear oil being to thick to properly oil the chain? thanks
<s>never</s> use 10w-40 in the transfer case. 50 w oil or 80-90
The np-205 is gear not chain. Unless you own a 203 than. Get a manual if you don't have one, Torque specs are in there. Others will chime in to buy the parts list cd for 20$ if you can swing it. I like LMC catalog for blowing up pics to get an idea of what you need.
Edited to correct myself.
the 203 does use 10w-40 and since you verified it below I double checked what it used. So that is indeed what you want to use in your 203 transfer case.
maybe numberdummy can help me with the switch. but I would like some pictures of the linkage that shifts my np203 transfer case. I have a 78 f150 short box. the guy I bought it from didn't have it for some reason or another, so im going to have to find the brackets and linkages and everything.
Not sure of it's operation, and my NP205 doesn't have anything so guessing it's for the NP203. Either Lock and/or 4x4 operation.
edit: Also, the Lamp is fed by Fuse 10. C-416 and C-417 indicate a single wire is used and the switch supplies ground to complete the lamp circuit. C-416 L.H. Side of Engine Compartment Near Dash Panel Wire 210 Blue. C-417 On Transfer Case Wire 210 Blue. And I thought that blue wire might be for trailer tow lol
