Help with a part.

Hello, I am having some trouble in finding a part. More of a I-do-not-know-what-it-is-called type of problem. In the picture posted below what is the name of the part that goes where the red arrow is pointing. I have done web searches but none did not come up with that specific part, it was always a trim part for the hood lip nearest the windshield. Here is the picture.

So what is that part called so I can search for it? Approximately how much should it cost? Also do you think I can put it in myself with my limited experience of putting in things like changing brake pads, alternator, starter, speed sensor, fuel filter and other small repairs/maintenance? Does it require any special tools? I do not want to be driving down the highway and have the part come off for me to run over it and break it. Also does the part come with the fasteners or is that a separate purchase (I am thinking it will be a separate purchase)?

Here are a couple pictures of the fasteners.

Also there is some damage where the yellow arrow is pointing to. The part is not broken in piece but the chrome is coming off like is it being unwrapped, like the chrome is in a sheet. Does anyone know of a fix for that? Can I do that fix myself or take it to a chrome shop to do it?

Thank you for your help in this matter.

I think this might be the piece you're looking for that attaches to the hood:

2006 Ford Explorer Hood Moulding | FordParts.com

According to the parts lookup there, it's called the Hood Moulding and if I'm reading the illustration right, it lines up with what you're looking for. Seems a bit pricey for a strip of trim, hopefully it's actually metal of some sort. Seems like it would just clip into the hood there from the looks of what you've got pictured.

Yes that was the part I was looking for. Thanks for the help. Purchased it for $95.00 shipping included. It is some sort of high density plastic. It isn't metal from what I can tell but it cannot be bent easily. I knew it was going to be a bit pricey. I am just glad the part can be purchased as a single piece. When the name was given to me I called all the local salvage yards and three of them said that part won't be able to found separately because it is usually sold as part of a complete front end or at least part of a complete grill assembly. Thanks for the help.
