? about the hood chrome
I have been liiking around and haven't seen any chrome peices on the hood like mine yet. does anybody know what the significance of the 3 part is to the single strip over the vents. I was able to get them off and save them just need cleaned up but i haven't evan been able to find them in any catologs. They are going back on just wondering about the reason for them. my 51 doesn't have them either only my 52. thanks Casey

Seeing that your '52 has the stainless windshield trim and dual wipers it tell me you have the Five Star cab option which has Five Star hood trim. The '51 and '52 have different trim, no matter the model. In '52 Ford went back to placing the "FORD" on the filler piece about the grill, the same as the '48-50.

I've only been around these trucks for about a year, and most of what i know i learned here. you have a "Deluxe" 5-star cab trim item, i bet you have stainless steel windshield trim, an interior dome light, big horns under your hood, some extra inner door panels and a couple other little things..........

Casey, Hood trim seems to be pretty rare for a 5-star cab. I scored the correct trim for only one side from E-bay a year or so back and have'nt come across any that I can afford since. I have been scrounging and trading F-1 parts to complete my truck for years and this is one piece that I can't seem to find.

Thanks Russ, But they're nit the same as the 51 and I already have a set on a rusty F-3 hood at a buddy's stash

I know over the past few years I've gotten in the habit of snapping up any 51-52 trim I can get my hands on. Unfortunately I have yet to actually find a 5-star set. I do have quite the assortment of standard cab stuff. I'm actually trying to get a complete set (F-1 through F-8) of round badges for my garage art

You can buy the spear at the end in reproduction at Classic Auto Parts which use to be Obsolete Ford. Part # 1C-16732-B $79.95.It is in the last catalog I received from them.It is suppose to be chrome plated.

If any one is interested, I have two complete sets of deluxe hood trim for a 52 F3 and F6 that I don't need. Already have a complete set for my 52 F1 Panel.
Will trade/sell for a complete set of deluxe hood trim for a 51 F1. All I really need are the additional spears that go around the standard spear trim.
