I have a 2005 Expo, AC has worked great for months then the other day it just blows hot. I grab a can of AC freon with the gauge and check it. Its reading full but still I blow 2 quick trigger pulls into it. Run it for 10 min but its still hot. I turned it off and waited 30 min got back in to go to the store and its blowing ice cold. Stays that way for about 48 hours then goes back to hot again. Take it into the shop and they test it, they said it has no leaks and pressure looks ok it was at 3.2 and should have been at 3.6 so they put a little freon in with no difference. Still blowing hot and the high rail is way hot while the lower line is at air temp. Turn it off again, I signed the paperwork, get in and it's blowing ice cold again. Does anybody have any idea whats going on? I'm not to familiar with AC systems.
Sounds like the compressor is not engaging, and that the store you were at did not know anything about AC systems. Look at the compressor, might be loose connector, bad wiring or bad compressor clutch

That makes no sense (unless you're stating pressures in metric which, if so, you need to provide the units).

That also doesn't make any sense.
Check for excessive compressor clutch gap. Your symptoms are fairly common when the clutch wears and becomes intermittent due to excessive gap. If excessive, either perform a shimectomy (if possible) or replace the clutch and properly set the gap with new shims.

Verify the operation of the blend door. To do so simply run the A/C, wait for it to get cold and then place your hand in front of the vent as you slowly raise and lower the temperature setting. If the temperature doesn't change the blend door is not moving.
Thanks, I will check both of those suggestions, I'm just repeating what I was told. Maybe I need to go get a second opinion by the sound of it. First though I will check clutch gap and blend door.
