Possible AC issue

So my 99 f350 has a slow ac leak.... 1 charge in may/june will get me through the hot summer months. Been this way for about 10 years now. This year is a little different. Temps went from 70ish to over 90 for the last few days prompting me to want my ac. So as normal, added refrigerant, and ice cold air returned. Only abnormal thing in this whole process is that I noticed the ac clutch isn't cycling as it normally does. It's blowing snowballs but clutch stays engaged constant. Could it be a cycling switch issue, or given the temps and high humidity, could this be normal?

It is supposed to stay engaged constantly.

A clutch that cycles is usually because the system is under charged. Overcharged or the evaporator getting too cold will also make the clutch cycle.

You need to see your pressures to tell what is really happening. You could be low on freon and high side hovering at 150# because thats all the compressor can do with the available refrigerant, or you could have a bad sensor and pushing 500# when hot.
