When I bought my 62 about a year ago, I replaced the instrument cluster with a good used unit + a new CVR for the gauges. The fuel and temp gauges have been accurate and reliable until recently. The temp gauge has started sticking at cold until the engine is mostly warm. Once it's close to operating temperature (180 on my gauge), it shoots right up. From that point on, it's as accurate as it's ever been.
It's a little annoying, as I like to watch the gauge and adjust the choke as the engine warms.
(The fuel gauge remains accurate and stable, so I think the CVR is still good.)
If I recall, the gauges are pretty well sealed up, but I was wondering if there's any way to adjust/lubricate the mechanism, or if I should just replace it.
Seem to recall there's a small adjustment screw on at least 1 of the gauges, I believe fuel, not certain about the others?? I would probly start by checking connections at the gauge and sending unit to insure clean and secure, if that does not solve the problem then replace the $7 sending unit before disassembling the instrument cluster not knowing?

Good call on the sender. Ground there is good, but the sender is old and wobbly.
