So I had my truck hydrolock on me on my birthday no less. I need some advice. When I pulled the glow plugs outs I butchered the wiring harnesses. Injector#8 had a blown/missing o-ring and the torx bolt was loose. I assume a false torque lead to the failure to begin with. BTW it still had the original dummy plug. 171k miles on a 2005. 1. Should I replace the glow plugs with the new wiring harness? 2. Can I just replace the o-ring on the injector or buy one? Any input would be really appreciated.

With almost 200K on the glow plugs I don't think it would be a bad idea to replace them while you have it apart. You can buy oring kits from ford for the injectors, just make sure the old copper washer is not left down in the injector cup and make sure the injector hold down bolt hole is clear of liquid before you torque it down and make sure you clean the injector cup good before installing the injector.
It looks like #8 did not have the copper washer. It is tarnished from the tip up to the first (and missing) o-ring. I found half of it but that was all. It is hard to see down into #8 but it looks clean. My best guess is the previous owner had the injector (s) replaced and this one just happed to be missing. I pulled #6 and it looked fine, to my untrained eye that is...

Use your cell phone to take a photo down inside the injector cup.
Just to help me understand,,, The copper washer was for sure gone, but the torx bolt was finger loose. could that be the reason the copper washer burned up? I bought an o-ring kit and reinstalled the injector. I won't put it all together until the new glow plug harness gets here Tuesday. There is plenty of time to backtrack.
Was there recent work done on the truck? I am surmising that the bolts were loose because the copper washer burned up... What was the root cause for it over fueling? Make dang sure you don't have a cracked injector tip. You could end up with catastrophic failure.
If there was recent work done on the truck, my guess is the bolt holes were not blown out which resulted in improper torque.
I am with Blade tho, I would replace the injector. If you were a little closer, I have 8 glow plugs and new harnesses in my tool box... BTW those harnesses are very difficult to remove without breaking them, even with the tool... IMO
I don't know how recent work was done to the injectors. I bought the truck in October with 153K miles so I have had it 8 months and less than 20k miles. I have replaced the FICM and oil cooler. I had noticed the occasional bucking with no load on a slight incline from day one. I wasn't sure of the cause maybe transmission. It could have been this injector from the start. Tt got bad in a short order of time. I should have stopped before the hydrolock. I over analyze...lessons learned

I'd pull it out and change injector to reman OEM PART with NEW ORING KIT
All done and the truck is running again! When I put it back together it wouldn't start. I read air gets in there and you really crank it a lot to get it going again. But in my case I didn't get the fuel pump connecter in good. It took me a minute to figure it out. I am stoked I was able to go from locked up to running again. It is amazing what you can do with help from the helpful folks and information you can find on the internet.
Simply Amazing!
