The first dealer said to put the stock intake back on. Since then I have not had time to switch the intake out and take it back. Just looking for some input to see if there was a way to avoid swapping intakes and just get them to tear into it.

I think you need to put the stock intake on.
It is going to be hard to try and get someone to look for a problem when they only get paid to fix things. If the intake is causing an issue, the tech will have to rely on the customer paying for his time.

If you have a warrantable issue, easiest way to get that process started is for you to put the stock intake back on.

I went through several intakes when I had my GMC. In the end I found most of the aftermarket intakes were just add-ons the only benefitted the manufacturer. With the D-Max it turned out that there was no better breathing intake on the market then what was on the vehicle when shipped. You can't feel a 10-20horsepower gain and the milage claims are all BS anyway.

Ford did a pretty good job with this engine, stock.
Even with all the detrimental emission crap, it runs pretty darn good.
