I have a 2009 XL. The plugs for the fog lights are pinned up behind the front bumper, and I understand the trucks in this year range had the fog light switch built into the headlight switch.


Is the wiring already there on the harness plug where I just need a headlight switch with the fog light switch on it to make everything work? Or do I have to check the plug? I heard something about a gray wire with purple stripe but I don't know if that was for this year of truck or not.

 

My 2001 has a pushbutton on the radio panel.
It's the furthest one on the right.
I'm not sure about the wiring. I'll check and get back.

 

On my 2007 the wiring there. Replaced the headlight switch. The panels actually popped out of the fog light holes. Then the lights went in their place.

 

I was figuring/hoping that with the fog lights being in the headlight circuit (as opposed to the older truck that had the separate switch for the fog lights) that used the same harness for all the trucks regardless.
