I am in the midst of final assembly on my Excursion 7.3 and am having a few little headaches along the way. My machinist was nice enough to paint the block and heads for me...so nice that he painted the intake and exhaust manifold sealing area. I got those cleaned up and noticed that the oil galley plugs on top of the heads have paint on the threads also. I am trying to think of a way to clean them up without contaminating the system with any paint flakes.
Some ideas...
Since the motor is on the stand, I thought about turning it till the ports are upside down and using a tap with grease
Also thought about removing the end plugs and shoving either a running vacuum cleaner tip in there or rags while doing the clean up.

Any other ideas from you guys?
Pic for reference.
I would think a DRY Tap or Thread Chaser and a vacuum would do the trick with some compressed air.
