That's the style in our Tacomas. Works very well, and actually has 3 different transmitters in it. One is for the front gate, one for the back gate, and one for the garage.

That's probably the route I'll go. One for the gate, one for the shop and one for the house. Then I can also get another monitor if I decide to add a front camera. The temp and compass are redundant though.
