so today on the way back from the car wash today and at the stop sign in front of my house i stop and my truck couldnt seem to go forward. naturally i freaked out and threw it in park and turned it off and back on but it still had the same problem. i let it cool down for a little bit and then started it again and i was able to get it to move finally.now it seems that every time i hit the brake once the motor is warm this problem happens again and i have to turn the truck off and cycle through the gears a few times then start it to get my truck to move. so if anyone has any idea what is going on here please feel willing to help. and my thoughts were the nuetral safety switch which i just got done replacing and it didnt work or the torque converter or the cylinoid on the transmission. somebody please help me with this problem.
It's not the neutral safety switch (NSS.) That would only keep it from starting in park or neutral. It isn't the TRS (Transmission Range Sensor) which you think is the NSS. It isn't any of the solenoids. There are four solenoids. It isn't the torque converter, either.
It could be loose feed bolts. They are located between the valve body and the case. You need to remove the pan and the valve body, and see if they are loose. If they were not loose, then there is an internal problem and the trans needs to be rebuilt.
Does it work any better with the shift handle in the 1 or 2 position?
