stop light switch
The hydraulic brake light switch on my 1966 F100 keeps failing.
I have tried several different brands. All say Made in Mexico and the #80 stamped on them.
Any idea why or if there is a more durable higher quality one?

C1AZ-13480-A (replaced 0A-13480) .. Stop Lamp Switch (Motorcraft SW-24) / Available from Ford & auto parts stores.
Applications: Myriad 1940/66 FoMoCo vehicles.
This switch is pressure activated when you step on the brake pedal. It's notorious for getting gummed up with dirty brake fluid.

when I google the Ford number you gave I find a gold colored one. The Motorcraft SW-24 it shows a silver colored one. I have gone thru 4 of those from various sources. The master cylinder has been rebuilt and the brake fluid is clear.
Is the gold-ish one better somehow?
