I have read in this forum that Canadians can buy their warranty from a US dealer as it is good throughout North America.
Is there truth to this rumor?
There was a lot of chatter about that. Last I heard they were requiring a US address to sell warranties in the US. Check around. And I agree , I wouldn't pay $6k for a warranty. I would put it in the bank and trade up when the warranty ran out.

Yes the price is ridiculous. I'm going to try and hammer a deal out of them anyway.
I also wonder if the Diesel Care is better than the Premium care? I don't put on a ton of miles though.
And I am not interested in a 3rd party warranty.

I believe the diesel care is just for the engine. I believe you can get up to 7/8 years and 200k miles.
For what it's worth I decided on the Premium Diesel Care which essentially only covers the engine. The factory warranty was enough for me to cover everything else but engine issues can get expensive down the road so I wanted that covered. Mine is good for 7yrs or 300,000km and cost $4100.
