I finally got my truck back together and took it for a ride today. Also the first time i got to use my Edge Insight on her. It has a P0236 code (Turbo Boost Sensor A Circuit Performance or something). MAP reads 15-17psi and Boost reads 0-2psi no matter how hard i get on it. I can hear the turbo spooling up and there is no smoke coming from the tailpipe so I'm guessing I'm actually getting decent boost. Is there anything i can do to get the PCM to read the boost pressure, which I think will get rid of the P0236 code?
The map sensor is the boost sensor. Pull the hose off and check it for obstruction. It is a 1/4" rubber he's that goes from the spider to th map sensor which is located on the firewall by the heater box. Also check the plenum boots and oring between the turbo and the spider.
I pulled the rubber line and it was clear of obstruction. Trimmed a 1/4 inch off each end to make sure the ends weren't stretched. I took it for a ride and now 4th gear, 2600 RPMs and in the pedal will read 10psi boost and 21 psi MAP. How do I know if the plenum boots are leaking? I just had them off and they looked good. No cracks or anything. Same with the o-ring at the Y.
