so far i have a list started of the way to remove the core but i always have a million things i want to do at the same time. with that being said i want to relocate both batteries to my toolbox while doing my core and fender replacement. is this as simple as marrying some cable and running it along the frame and into the box. then running the alternator charging wire the same way?
hows this list look for the core removal?
1. Remove grille and bumper
2. Remove batteries
3. Remove headlights
4. Support, then unbolt the radiator
5. remove the header panel 2 bolts on each end and 2 on each side of the radiator opening and one on the valence
6. support and unbolt the ac condenser
7. remove the brackets that hold the fenders on the support; 4 bolts on the support, 2 on the fenders
8. take off battery trays
9. take off hood latch
10. Take off latch mount
11. Take off horn
12. Take off trans cooler
13. Remove bolts that hold the support onto the frame
Work in opposite to put back on.
Basically yes on the batteries. You just need new cables. Easiest way with the cables is new cables and brass eyelets hooked on military style battery terminals. Make sure you ground them real good. I added a couple extra grounds when I did mine, never too many grounds. Battery to frame, battery to body, etc. I also added a master shutoff switch inline so instead of disconnecting my batteries for truck work, I just turn a switch off. Something to consider.
Never removed a core support but looks like you probably got it figured out.
