I'll be the first to admit that I am not a mechanic or a certified tech. I can do minor fixes, maintenance things, etc. I have basically paid for a lot of the upgrades on my truck.
If I were to attempt to change out my turbo myself, be it an OEM, or and upgraded aftermarket (I want to run basically stock tune), is the replacement of the turbo basically a "plug & play" issue?
I have had the updated turbo drain installed in one of my previous upgrades
Thanks to all in advance that have more expertise than I do!
If you put an 03 turbo "10" vein, you would want to get a 03 pedistal mount as well. All other oem turbos would be ok.
IIRC you can put the 03 turbo on the 04 and up pedestal but you only use the 2 front bolts (all that's really required anyway). You just can't go the other way.
Disconnect both battery cables and turn the light switch on for 30 seconds then reconnect. This will clear the KAM (keep alive memory) capacitors and let the PCM "start" again. It doesn't clear the PCM just stored "bad habits".

Thanks Tim. I am assuming the "light switch" is the headlight switch?
