Broke a plug off my turbo pedastal

I was taking my turbo out and apparently broke a plug that sits in the front of the turbo pedastal.

Has a bunch of copper inside it.

What is this called? what does it do? And does RiffRaff have them?

Thanks

That is the Exhaust Back Pressure Solenoid. If it is not cold where you live, just leave it un-plugged. They run about $225 new.

By the way, you are not the only one: See This Post

Also, if I do the DELETE on this, if it gets down to 15degrees in the winter, like it does 1 week or so out of the year, if I dont get my truck plugged in will I be screwed and it not start??

Sean, I've not had an EBPV on any of the 7.3's I've owned here just North of you, the EBPV does not aid with starting only with warm up after started.

Either way, really, leave it unplugged and if you decide at some point you want the EBPV you could replace the solenoid. If you think you will never want it, delete the actuator and valve in the outlet.
