They make it sound like you can basically write your own tunes and save them back to your PCM. No real discussion on initiated/interactive testing. Looks like a collection of several different programs. I recognize the pushing keyword type advertising but curiosity is working on me...lol. I found this gem of translation in the ad "Don't waste your time and money going to a mechanic just to find out why your check-english light in on." Spoiler:::$127 till the end of the month. TOTAL OBD Car Diagnostics & Chiptuning Software | OBDII OBD2 Scanner for ELM327
I know many of us shouldn't be fooling with this but if you really can get a decent interface to modify ECM tables without having to learn a machine language and how to use compilers and such, sounds like a bargain. I realize you need to wait on the disk so you can keep a handle on the possibility of embedded malware, but any other gotcha's I might be missing, beside they take your money and it don't work or they take your money and then take more money? Lol
Also on a side note, why in the heck is this tuner more than $2k? H&S Performance
Am I just spending too much time on the dirty side of the Internet?
I think you may be spending too much time on the wrong side of the street. LOL
There is a reason there are not more people writeing tunes. You not only have to have the tools but the knowledge on how and where to use them. What values to change and how much and which to leave alone.
Like on a computer not everyone can hack or write code. I spent 4 years trying to learn and code in C++. Never could keep code in my head memorized.
I'm sure to make good use of it you would need a dyno to evaluate your changes but, how about turning off your EGR for example? Download and copy your flash, edit in a understandable GUI, save. No EGR, no tuner. $127. possible good diag software as a bonus.
Maybe H&S is trying to pay off their big EPA fine?
Maybe so, I'm not aware of that situation. It just seems like an outrageous ammount of money for a downloader. I was thinking someone may reply it does more stuff than a normal tuner. Maybe the case is made out of platinum?
I guess I'm intrigued by the TOAD stuff that you could possibly get that kind of access to your pcm for such a small ammount of money. I realize it's not something to be reckless with (if it does work) and it's not a bargain if you turn your pcm into a brick with it...
Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we had a forum for this kind of stuff? Maybe someone who's not in the 6.0 forum has some knowledge of this software package. Oh wait, we just had a discussion about that with moderators and nothing happened.
