Can the speedo and tack lights be dimmed to almost off with the + and - buttons either side of the headlight switch on a 2014 Escape?

 

This has been asked before and the answer was that it lacks the range that the old thumb wheel had so maybe not.

 

It takes about 10 clicks on the - or + button to see any change in the lighting. Basically you have to push the buttons a great many times to get them where you want them. Ford missed the mark on this one. A simple pop out dial would have been excellent.
