Let me start off by describing my truck....1994 7.3 turbo non powerstroke. Bought this truck about 2 months ago but it seems like it don't have alot of power, and by power I mean it never gets above 1000-1200 RPMS. I just had the transmission redone and I think I finally got it right . Now it just seems like it don't have any power. I have changes the oil and fuel filters...please help
if it is a 94 non turbo, it is an IDI, not a powerstroke engine.
when you say it will only rev to 1000-1200 rpms, that is what the tach is reading rite? first thing i would look at is the throttle cable to see if it is hooked up and opening the throttle.
1200 rpms is just barely over idle.
Can you rev the engine above 1200rpm while in park or neutral or is it just when in gear and driving?
Here's a link to a diesel page for basic information, but it almost sounds like you have weak fuel delivery or another thought is how well did the engine run before you had the trans fixed?
