Yet another IP issue

I have this wierd thing that is going on with my IP I think and didn't know if anyone had similer issues. oh, And before I start, My fuel system and filters are in good condition and I have planty of fuel pressure to the IP.

It seems like I have more power at half throttle than full throttle. It doesn't smoke at all even when floored cause I never turned my fuel up be even before the turbo it seemed like after half throttle that was it. Now it has alot of power at half throttle but you whould think when you give it more, you inturn would go faster which is not my case.
Also, The truck starts and idles great. It has extreamly fast and responsive throttle responce but this full throttle at half throttle has been throwing me off. It doesn't bother me too much cause it still runs great even with only half. I can hit 85mph easy at half throttle. Even when pulling, half throttle seems like its better. Its almost like your flooding out a gas engine but I know im not putting in too much fuel due to no smoke. Any suggestions??? Thanks

Have you checked the throttle linkage to make sure you are getting full travel out of it?
I can't remember who or where I read recently about someone having the same problem as you and they track it down to a damaged throttle cable.

Sounds to me like a linkage problem or a govenor problem, like when over reving the engine. Mabye the govenor is kicking in to early? Try this remove your fuel filter, fill with dextron II, start her, shut her off, and let sit a few hours then go on a drive and see if that dosent lube things up. It worked for my IP issues (for now anyways)!
DO NOT REMOVE the govenor top cover unless you know how to re-install the FSS solenoid and test if it is installed corectly. If not you will not be able to turn off the engine with out stopping the fuel, and could have a runnaway engine!

Been there, done that at work. SLAMMED it in 5th gear and dumped the clutch. OUCH. It got her shut down but made a hell of a raquit. Thats what I get for listening to the boss man instead of my own thoughts. He told me I had to slid the little lever in solonoid in the bracket in the pump. Wow, it fits but she will run away.

Anyway, I will try the dex II and see what happens. I Figured my governer works cause it will go to 3,300rpm and stay there in any gear lower gear or park/nutral. The only thing after half throttle is a change in shift points and Im sure its the fipl to the tcm that adjusts that. As for my throttle cable, It is in great condition, not binding, moves freely and the lever on the pump is not catching anything. It goes from half throttle to full just as easy as no throttle to half. It acts like a plugged fuel filter but I have 2 psi headed to the ip and the minimum is 1psi @ 3,000 rpm. And its a new filter. The return lines are not restriced or leaking. I may just need to rebuild this IP I have next to my computer (paperweight) and keep the one on it as a spare. I hear DPS and Stage 1 Injectors. (I still have original injectors at 194,000miles) Thanks, any more ideas!!!

I did the same thing, filled filter with tranny oil, poured one gallon of diesel service fuel treatment in half tank of fuel and in 2 hours it was great.
