My 93 just doesn't seem to ride quite right. The guy before me put air shocks in back after installing a 33gal. tank. It bounces a bit but seems to do the job when it counts. The front end is a different story. It only has the 4.9 up front and has the quad shock setup. Just doesn't seem necessary to me after having a big block with singles. I'm not sure if the dual shock with the straight 6 even came factory. It seems very stiff. Could this be old springs trying to push back healthy shocks? It's a 4x4 and I want to do the leveling springs up front . something about a bouncy back end and a stiff front end just pisses me off. Possibly ocd symptoms. Any suggestions? spring recommendation? I would like to see some added smoothness out of the added travel. Thank you and don't forget to call yo mamma .
Conanski I am curious about that as I would like to do that on my 88 5.0
Did you literally just take out the front set and leave the other one on there or did use a different shock? (I.E. not one designed for a quad shock set up) Not to hijack this thread, but did Ford do that mainly as a sales gimmick, or, was there any real benefit to having the quad shock set up?
On many of the parts websites they list the 'inners' in a quad setup as the same as the single shock option. That would mean that those are the same weather you have the single or dual shock setup.
