shocks for dual shock mount

what would be an ideal shock to have for a dual shock setup in the front? i was looking at fox 2.0's or rancho 7000's but not really sure what to go with. My reasons for dual shocks:
1. help support my plow in the winter months
2. I do A LOT of off-roading 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week, and the single shocks ive tried wear out pretty quick
3. i dont like hitting my bumpstops
4. they look good lol

please dont try to convince me not to get them, ive had quite a few guys recommend them to me for what i use my truck for and im pretty set on them, im not looking for a smooth ride but im not sure what shock is best for running duals. its a f250 4x4 scsb and is leveled. thanks for any help

I've had dual Fox reservoir shocks on my truck for 13 years and they're great. I've rebuilt them twice, once to fix a leak and once as preventative maintenance.

are they the 2.0 series? the only one on Fox's website with a reservoir, is for the rear. the ones they have listed for the front are the 2.0 performance series IFP's

Yes, they're 2 inch bodies, but I don't think they were calling them 2.0 series when I bought them. The IFP stands for Internal Floating Piston which separates the oil from the nitrogen. With a reservoir shock, the IFP is in the reservoir allowing more volume of oil on the shock body to help combat heat related shock fade. The pressurized nitrogen helps with aeration. I had Rancho 9000's before the fox and they were crap for off-roading IMO. Your best bet is to measure your shock length at full droop and full compression and get a reservoir shock that fits these measurements.

You're gonna want to pull the shock to measure.

I sure wish there were more options that didn't break the bank for an 8" lift....

I would love to go rancho but the guys i talk to that specialize in suspensions are highly recommending i get something that is valved specifically for what im using my truck for and (there recommending custom valved Blisteins), but its hard cause i use it for a lot of things (in one day)... so i need a good all around shock that will last, and improve off-road as well as on-road handling. i do realize somethings going to lack, but if i can improve the handling characteristics of the truck ill be very happy.

Are they saying that the shock you get will be tuned to your vehicle? Like they will take the stack out and adjust it accordingly? On an off the shelf shock? Or is this shop up selling you into a more expensive shock, that they will pull apart and tune for you? On a side note, we have more valving options than others in this regard. Say, you had a 3/4 ton Ford, we don't take that to work on a 3/4 ton Chevy, or Dodge.

it sounds like there just doing valve adusting on a blistein shock, whether its off the shelf im not sure. i dont know much about shocks, so if you have any recommendations from your shocks im very open. Like i said i dont know much, i just want the best shock for my setup and I made it clear to these other guys (CT Performance) that i dont know much and they seem pretty honest and not yanking my chain. the price they gave me on the blisteins isnt one that will break the bank, they are a sponsor on another forum. Im trying to get as much input as i can to make a good educated decision. not just throwing stuff on there not knowing what to expect from it.
