Got my truck back up and running after a 6 months wait on a transmission failure. Took it on its second trip from the house. The wife was driving and a Jeep Grand Cherokee ran out in front of us. We t-boned it doing around 60 mph's and no more truck. We had minor injuries due to the hoss of a truck we were in. The other party not so lucky unfortunately. Anyways got to start looking for another ride. After a bit of searching I am really shocked at the prices.
Hopefully the insurance company settles with me for around what these are going for. Looking for a f-250 crew cab. 2002 or 2003 model. Anyone know how buying back my truck will work? I have AE and quite a few upgrades I would like to swap over to a new ride.
Damn, sorry to hear this but i'm glad everyone is ok. Sorry i don't have any info on buying the truck back but I would like to know how that all works.
Any pics of the damage?

The insurance company will meet you for an estimate assessment, you may get only one chance at buying it back.
Either you will be offered it back at a scrap bid or the insurance company will advise you of the going scrap value.
Sorry about the crash. Be prepared for the one-time offer.
To my surprise, insurance offers have become generous.
I had my 99 totaled back in late 01. 100k on the truck but the damage was minor I thought and planned on buying to back. The insurance company offered me so much money for the total loss I couldn't say anything but I'll be over with the keys and to pick up the check.
Be sure to find comparable vehicles for sale in case you need to show them the value of the truck though.
Oh man... sorry to hear about the loss and the ordeal. I'm glad things are minor in your cab, but I still feel for you about the trauma. I can't imagine the carnage in a tinny jeep with a T-bone from a Superduty at highway speeds... and I really don't want to. I think I can pass on the pictures of the other vehicle, if it's all the same to the rest of the folks here.
Shoot me an email at sowaxeman AT jdsaleen DOT com. I have a 2002 that I may be forced to sell. Still weighing my options and hoping to avoid it, but thought I'd throw that out there and we can start a discussion just in case.
After a small engine fire on my truck insurance is paying dealer $16,800+ to put her back together. They said I was $1000 from a total loss without including all my extras.
Adjuster told me it would have been $1000-$2000 to buy it back if they totaled it.
