I felt like it was hijacked anyway. I typed in my message and the computer wouldn't let me scroll down to the submit button So I started over.
My 94 F-150 5.8 has a coolant leak. Not a real bad one. I can't see where it comes from but it pools under the thermostat housing. Anyone have any ideas?
First thing I would do is to clean up all the coolant that has leaked on the engine. I would also use brake cleaner or something similar to eliminate any leftover residue. Then get it warmed up and see if you can find any fresh coolant leaking into that area and see where it is coming from. Aside from the obvious possibility that your thermostat housing gasket is leaking, I also remember that there is a small hose that runs from the bottom of the throttle body down to the front side of the lower intake manifold. If that hose was leaking, I think the coolant would end up near your thermostat housing. Hope that helps. Post up what you find out.
Looks like I'm going to be changing a thermostat housing gasket. Not today though we have a weather advisory in effect. Thanks for the help/suggestion.
