Drove truck all last week ran great one slight stall in reverse on a hill different kind of stall was immediate no drop in rpm.
Solid idle no other stalls. When I got truck back from shop no turn signals or daytime running lights or OD button light. Turned out to be a 15amp fuse blown. Replaced fuse and now the truck is running not as well died a couple times immediately like a short or fuel problem ??? Not sure if it's related to electrical or gas it still transmission???? I do have the classic dual tank problem can't use front tank dumping fuel on ground and back tank fills front tank. Maybe it's my fuel filter clogged from junk in tank??? Any thought would be appreciated 😀
Ok this is weird ???? There must be a short or vacuum leak by distributor??? When I put my hand next to distributor near a wire that has some sort of termination on end. The engine rpm drops then recovers cannot pinpoint what's causing it ??? A wire to distributor or a bad plug wire???

Have a pic? If your using the stock plastic vacuum lines I would suggest buying some silicone lines and replacing. Cleaned up a lot of issues on mine and also revealed a new set of problems with other parts there were out or on its last leg but it was progress!
SPOUT= Spark Out signal from the computer. You remove the SPOUT plug when setting the base timing. With the plug in the computer is advancing/retarding the timing based on input from the sensors.

So that's what that thing is never knew, thanks. Seem to have narrowed the problem the plastic connector going to the distributor if I push on the red wire I can make the truck die???just had distributor changed with aftermarket and mechanic said I need a new ford connector going into the aftermarket distributor connector not sure why but something in those wires is making the truck sputter my rpm and volt gauge both drop at same time and if impish on that red wire on connector it dies???

Looks like you found the problem. Check the pins, if they look good then you are looking at a replacement connector as previous stated before.
