Slow Server?

Am I the only one having problems with the server for FTE? I think it's running at Amish speed...

The problem with this site being slow is all the advertising sites that run before you get to the main site.

It loads quick for me so I don't think it's an FTE issue.

But an adblocker will definitely help

Mine runs real slow when I use IE, but I have an older version. I can't upgrade because of some security setting on my laptop that I can't seem to find so I can't change.
So I've been using Google Chrome even with all the ads (which I didn't have with IE) it's like 100 times faster.

Google chrome works SOOO much better than IE, I've been using Chrome since it first came out, and I will never go back to IE.

I use Safari.

This started earlier this week. Absolutely no problems anywhere but here. If I log out then log in and access this board from the home page it's better… for about three posts. Then it freezes again.

That said… since I started this post it's been working better.

Huh, that is strange. Although there have been a couple of times, where I can't even access the site, it will just say that the page was not found. But that has only happened twice that I can remember, and I think it only lasted for about an hour or so.

Tonite it's been a bit faster but froze again just after I made my last post.

I had been using a city owned public wi-fi system and also free wi-fi from other local business's… all the same. Now I'm on Charter cable at home… same thing whether on my iMac or my Macbook.

I wasn't on here much during the winter… I don't drive my F-350 in the salt and I was busy working on other projects in my shop so the old F-Bomb was out of sight-out of mind. This has been happening for about three weeks…

I guess I'll see how it goes from here on.

try using mozilla firefox with adblocker plus.
some of the others do not play well with the software internet brands uses, with internet explorer being the absolute worst of them all.

I got a message from the mod to clean out the cookies which I did. After a couple reboots it seems better but I was on at off-peak hours. We'll see how it goes later today… so far this morning it's better.
