Question Neutral start switch

I have a question, did the '57-'60 manual trans trucks have a neutral start switch? I can start My '59 in neutral without pressing in the clutch. I know later ones you have to press the pedal down before it will start

If it is supposed to have one, where might it be located?

They didn't have one, it will actually turnover in gear. After my son near ran over my neighbor, I added a switch to mine that requires the clutch to be pushed. It breaks the wire going from the switch to the starter solenoid. It was quite easy to do.

This is what I used. I made a small bracket that it mounted on. When the clutch is not pushed the peddle keeps the button pushed and the switch open. When you push the clutch, the button pops out an the switch closes and you can start the truck. I did the same to serve as a brake light switch.

NSS (Neutral Safety Switch) only used with A/T's.

The switch you're speaking about did not appear on trucks until the 1980's.
