The electrical nightmare need help
So bought a 2001 excursion 7.3l deisel runs great after it starts has to be plugged in to start.
I am having an electrical problem with it.
When you turn the parking lights on the back lights are very dim and the 3rd bake light goes on.
With the lights off:
If you press the brake pedal the front turn signals light up.
If you put a turn signal on it stays lit. Sometimes it blinks sometimes it does not.
If I turn the hazards on they both blink and the tied brake light goes out?
What did I get my self into.

Just taking a wild guess, I'd probably look at the multi-function switch (turn signal switch) AND the grounds to the body. Maybe test the headlamp switch too.
Do you know any history of the vehicle? Flood recovery perhaps?

I can't figure it out:/
The lights are dim
With the lights off and you bread the brake the front signals come on???
If the blinker is on all the back lights blink even the 3rd brake light.
My lights are really dim I need the truck.

My guess would be a bad ground somewhere. That causes some funny things to happen sometimes. Check all your grounds especially body to frame.

I am not sure where the ground points are in this truck.
I did fix the problem by adding a ground wire to both tail lights everything is working perfect now.
