Brake adjustment and new windshield sounds like a success story to me! Heheh. Good luck, doesn't sound like the end of the world, just disappointing you are gonna miss the show.

The verdict is in. The right drum had a small ridge in it. The shoes were riding on the ridge and not the shoe. Therefore, the total braking surface, on the right side, was about 1/4 inch wide. In addition, the star adjuster on that side was shot. It spun but didn't really move. Hone the drum and install a new star and all is well.

A funny thing about inspections. In MD, an old rig like mine, 54' , does not have to be inspected. I just put mine on the road recently for the same reason, test drives, and was floored when MVA said I did not have to get in inspected. Historic plates.

Delaware requires a one time inspection for antique plates. In my case, I bought it out of state and have to register it anyway.
