If they start spitting oil after it warms up, then yes, it's time for new or rebuilt injectors.
You could also try some of the rev x or hot shot secret, but the results seem better suited for the 6.0 injectors and don't have much luck on the 7.3.
If you go with rebuilt injectors, go with one of the reputable dealers that are recommended here. Stay away from places like Pensacola diesel who have great prices, but a long history of poor results.
And most of the rebuild guys will sell you rebuilt injectors and let you return your old injectors as cores so you're not down the time of sending yours in and waiting.
so its pretty dead set on needing injectors then? possibly fix them myself?? how is rosewood? it was like 500 to have them rebuild well cleaned inside and out and flow tested. suggestions?? i need my family vehicle back soon here things are tight packing everyone in the car. i can't find any cheaper used one that are good either.
I can't say you're dead set on needing injectors, but as you can tell from my posts, that's what it sounded like to me from the beginning.
I would recommend you starting the truck and letting it warm up to watch and see if the injectors not spitting oil start spitting oil and that coincides with the truck running better. That's a pretty reliable indicator of bad injectors.
You can also call Jim and get his input, or send him a PM on this forum since he participates here at FTE. Jim will have injectors on the shelf he can ship you and allow you to send yours in as cores after the swap.
Don't know if I'm poking the Bear or not but, Wasn't it running pretty good until you found all those bare wires? Are you sure you found them All? Your not gonna get any fire until youv'e fixed them all.....And there's 2 sides to inspect............and check inside both connectors. You may have just stirred up the nest...just sayin
It finally started instead of wearing a starter out I decided to fill the oil in the hpop. Air kept burping out and wala cranked for 5 seconds and Insta start.
It's gonna smoke for a while, and be slow to start several times until all the oil gets out of the exhaust system and all the air gets out of the oil rails.
