Rough Cold Start

I have a F250 6.9. When I try to cold start it the motor will just turn over and over. If it does start it puffs out a bunch of white/gray smoke and the dies again. Is this a simple glow plug problem, or something worse? If it's just the glow plugs what would be a good way of testing the plugs, and the plug relay wires?

welcome to FTE.
if you have a block heater, plug it in for at least 2 hours before trying to start. if it fires rite up and stays running, you have a glow plug issue.

Thanks for the info. I pulled all the glow plugs and they were Acdelco and one was bad. So, can I replace the bad one or replace them all with Motorcraft since they are all Acdelcos?
