Very cool to see the panel in action! I would say the video turned out great! If you ever get tired of wood working and old trucks you could head to Hollywood!
All kidding aside that truck is awesome and you are living a pretty awesome life in a pretty beautiful place. Congrats!
I am really thankful to you all for your nice comments. The place I live is very beautiful and it has been a good safe place to raise 4 kids. I have been here 36 years and it has not always been easy financially as there are very few jobs with security, insurance, pension etc so we have lived on a shoe string all our lives. I have friends I see from my early days in Seattle who are now retiring from Boeing and going on cruises and sometimes I envy them for the carefree retirement they look forward to. And sometimes I think they envy me because I have never been stuck in traffic or taken the keys out of my ignition. The only time we lock our cars is in late summer so friends don't fill our cars with zucchinis.
Love the truck & watching it run in the perfect environment with the perfect pilot at the wheel. You really got it made up there.
One things for sure. If Mr. Schaaf doesn't utilize you & some of your iron in film somewhere, then he ain't got a creative bone in his body.
I had the same thought as your last sentence. Gary and his trucks are perfect candidates for feature film roles. But on the down side, we see how much time was invested for the 5 1/2 minute video, a bigger production could wreck a work schedule.
The wife had one of her dogs in a couple movie scenes a lot of years ago, and my avatar girl once starred in a carpet commercial. Small roles that each took a full day to shoot and reshoot. But, like Gary's, a fun experience. Stu
I really like the part where a 46 sedan is heading away from the camera while the panel truck is coming the other way. Sure looks relaxing.
Not that anybody would believe it, but that was purely accidental. It was an old friend of mine, Dave Hoffman, retired as head ranger at the state park here. He called that night and asked if that was me in that panel truck. He has owned a lot of old fords, mostly As and Ts, but got the 46 a few years back. That was only the second time I ever saw that car of the road. What a shame that ugly white car spoiled the scene. But it did give some contrast.....
