Well, here's the next truck up for restore. I dang near stole it off the guy. FE (displacement unknown as of now) C6 auto. Super cab with bench seat, dealer air, camper top, very little rust, near perfect interior, BRAND NEW brass four core radiator, brand new aftermarket Holley 2 bbl carb, brand new rear brakes and wheel cylinders. 4 brand new tires on aluminum outlaw wheels, sport steering wheel.
....and he only wanted $650 for it. I almost sprained my wrist getting the money out of my pocket. No need to quibble about price on this one. I'm really excited.
Nice find! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Your previous builds make me wish I still lived in Rolla (I was there for 11 years: college & grad school), where it wouldn't be as ridiculous a drive to get to your shop.
Can someone clarify the style of mirrors on these two trucks? I have the same on one of mine and I thought they were the westerns but I've seen others described as that on here. Or are they just a wide swing out towing mirror?
And I'm sure Rich can help you find the correct front bumper for that ole beast.
Lol Me and Alan met by doing a 76 grill shell deal years ago. And we have been swapping/trading all sorts of Ford truck parts, pieces, 4x4 running gears, parts to do a 5 lug to 8 lug swap on his brown trucks front axle, and D60 rear axle ect..... for years.
Even a transmission, transfer cases, fuel cell and steering column for his monster truck. Heck so many parts I have my name on it.
He even painted my red truck, helped with motor swap in it. Lift kit install and fuel tank swap on ol Blue, welded the roll cage in the Bronco....helped with the Ranger ball joints.
He's the man and will handle that truck fix up quite well and knows I will help out where ever I can, cause Missouri FTE members stick together!
I hear ya 77&79.. I'm not sure if I have anyone close at all here in bama..
Got a couple of old school guys that enjoy helping me with things every now and again, gave one of em a good laugh when I told him I snapped a rear left stud off trying to take it off by 'tighten' it to the left
Rich and Alan I apologize for the poor attempt of trying to be funny on the web. Hehe. I know that you guys have a known each other for quite awhile. And have worked together several times. That's why I made that comment. Not to mention the fact that Rich is the go to guy for parts. FWIW I'm sure you know as well that the steering column and wheel are also not correct for a 76. Not that any of that matters. Good luck and have fun with that project. I can only hope to get to meet you both in person one day.
