The bumper IS correct. ...it's the grill that's wrong. This is a '76.
....and I already have most of the early grill set aside for it. I just need the headlight buckets for it and then I'm all set.
C4TZ-17757-D .. Chrome Front Bumper / Reproduced
1964/77 F100/350 / 1978 F100/350 before serial number AG0,001.
Truck in post #1 has a 1978/79 grille, the 3 spoke sport steering wheel was introduced in 1978 F100/350's, Bronco's & Econolines.
FE engines cancelled at the end of the 1976 model run.
The mirrors are TYPE 8, introduced in 1975.
Mirrors pictured in post #8: TYPE 3 Western Junior mirrors with the 3rd "steady rest" arm were introduced in 1967, were part of the Camper Special package, optional on other trucks.
Many 1973/79's came with TYPE 9 low mount "Swing-Lok" mirrors. But, there are four different types.
No apology needed...lol got ya. What parts you talking about Willis? lol x2 Penn twp is a long way from Missouri. But we will both be here working on trucks (well Alan works on them WAY more than me) is you do make it this way.
Rich and Alan I apologize for the poor attempt of trying to be funny on the web. Hehe. I know that you guys have a known each other for quite awhile. And have worked together several times. That's why I made that comment. Not to mention the fact that Rich is the go to guy for parts. FWIW I'm sure you know as well that the steering column and wheel are also not correct for a 76. Not that any of that matters. Good luck and have fun with that project. I can only hope to get to meet you both in person one day.
Hey man, no sweat at all! If I don't get people's jokes, it's because I'm the most socially awkward person on the planet and humor escapes me sometimes.
Day two on the garage sale find super cab. I replaced the entire fuel system from tank to carburetor. It apparently was sitting a LONG time and the fuel system was gummed up, so I didn't take any chances. There isn't a spec of dirt anywhere in the fuel system now. The carb was brand new, but I rebuilt it anyway. The accelerator pump was actually melted together and not working at all. That's what prompted me to go nuts with the whole system. I bought everything to replace the rear brakes from the rear hose out to the brake shoes. There's another area I don't play around with. Brakes. They have to work. As soon as I get it stopping, it's on to the exhaust. I have new dual flowmasters for it. I took the camper top off so I could clean it better, but I intend to keep it for camping trips. They sure are handy for keeping your gear dry.
Anyway, it runs and drives now. It should be transportation by the end of the week.
