Hey fte I know checking your oil level is a pretty easy thing but I am having a serious issue right now. I checked my oil and my dipstick has oil on it but it isn't leaving the napkin wet. Like there is oil on the dip stick but it just doesn't seem right. Nothing on the ground were I stopped at before I got home. How long will it run without causing damage?
The truck will shut down before any damage. If you lose low press. oil there is no high press. oil to fire the injectors. The dip sticks are hard to read but if your sure the oil is below the dip stick, I'd add a qt. at a time checking the dip stick after each add.
I have a leaked somewhere when It running down the block and if I look up from te ground and feel above the driver exhaust manifold I can feel some wetness
Ok guys today I'm going to get into the engine take some stuff off and try and find this oil leak. I've been thinking it is the bed plate but after looking more and getting under there and looking up I can feel oil above the exhaust manifold so I'm thinking I will pull the air filer and maybe the degas bottle and see if I can find it myself.
Is the glow plug toward the front off the engine? Also should there be oil in the intake side of the turbo?
There are 2 glow plug harnesses. The best way to get to them is to remove the plastic inner fenders. There will be 1 per cylinder. If you try to remove one be prepared to buy new harnesses. The get pretty bridle.
