Help with blower motor.
Hi, I have a 2003 f250 with the 5.4. I noticed my blower motor was only working on High so I changed the resistor. The plug was melted beyond use so I also spliced in a new plug. The problem I have is that the blower speeds seem wrong. There are basically 4 speeds. Speeds 1,2 and 3 go through the resistor and speed 4 (high) is direct to the blower motor. High works but when I change to 3 the blower speed drops by about 90%. Speed 2 seems exactly the same as 3 with no noticeable change in motor sound or airflow from vents. Speed 1 is very slow, almost nothing. I have since replaced the blower control switch on the dash. Nothing changed. I have also checked the resistance of the coils on the resistor. Can anyone tell me how much different the blower speeds are from each other on a stock 03 f250? I have searched every forum I could find and still have not found an answer. Mine acts just like yours and I figured it was the resistor bank and added that to my laundry list of things I need to do to the truck.
