No 4lo

When I shift into 4Lo I get no 4 wheel drive. 4Hi works. Did have a/c redirect to defrost a couple of times. I remember something about the air redirecting having something to do with not having 4x4 but don't know just what it was.

I think it's all or none if it's a vacuum issue.

Did you have it in neutral when you tried to go into 4lo? You need to. Sometimes it takes a few seconds.

Yea, that's why I asked. Is it a manual shifter and just not shifting. Or are you shifting and front wheels aren't turning (are your hubs locked?)?

Shift on the fly, I have no idea on what is involved with that system.

It's a 2001, auto,shift on the fly. Stopped in neutral waited and nothing. Don't even get the "low range" indicator light. 4 hi worked just not 4 lo.

Found the problem. At the tranny there a shifting unit attached to the tranny. Where this unit attaches to the shaft there is as alignment mark on the shaft and another on the shifter. These marks were about 1/32 inch from lining up. Adjusted shifter and all is good now. Even my reverse lights work normally now.
