the other day while driving my blinkers just didn't come on. this has happened before but it was a fuse and when the fuse had gone out it disabled the blinkers and the emergency flashers at the same time so since my emergency flashers still work I feel as though the actual blinker switch has gone out.
is this a possibility and has anyone else delt with a similar problem before.
I have not yet gone to the store to replace it yet but i wanted to ask the gurus here before i go about to fixing it to see if anyone knows exactly what needs replaced.
It is possible that the ignition switch [key portion] is sticking and did not return fully to the "run" position after starting. Try jiggling the key just a little and rotate backwards. If this is the cause, the A/C-heat fan also will not operate. This is not uncommon and can sometimes be corrected with cleaning and lubricating the switch.
well my truck is not how it used to be. when i bought it it did not have the original engine and trans so And they are both originally from a stang. so the the A/C that came with the car originally is not hooked up and i had to wire in my own on/off fan switch and fan for the heater to work. 4 months ago the fuse went out and it cuttoff all lights but the running lights in the back. so since all the brake lights and emergency lights still work poperly I have to conclude it is the blinker switch itself. So before i switched that I wanted to ask on here if it was a common thing to fail overtime.?
I will try to make sure the key is all the way in the correct position tonight when I go fishing. thank for the idea 86"
